The Desert resort was a closed invited competition to design a resort in the blazing hot deserts of Al Ain that is famous for its endless extent of sensual sand dunes in the Middle East. The total extent of the property is 8800 acres and belongs to Royalty of Abu Dhabi. Ghinnawas, intensely personal, abbreviated forms of poetic expression among the Bedouin, form the primary source of the inspiration that has defined our design. The 68 room property with a total build area of 11340 sqm was to be designed and developed as a zero energy foot print project. The primary structures was made of membranes that define the profile of the structure. All walls are double membrane with the outer in fabric and the internal in masonry.
