Panel Discussion on "Striking a Balance:Designing cities for Development and Livability".

The Esteemed Panelists included:

1. Dr. Chandrashekar Hariharan, Founder Chairman BCIL Zed Homes and Founder Trustee, AltTech 

Dr Chandrashekar Hariharan, an economist is the chairperson, Biodiversity Conservation India, known as Group ZED, for its ‘zero energy development homes’. Foundation. He is the Co-Chair, IGBC Bangalore Chapter and the founder-director of Alt.Tech Foundation [ATF], a not-for-profit organisation that has been working on energy and water solutions for over the past decade.


2. Emanuele Mattutini,  Director - Design & Projects - RSP Architects Planners & Engineers

Emanuele is a qualified architect in both UK and Italy and has almost 20 years of experience with some of the most influential practices in the world. His work includes number of international high profile projects such as Index Tower in Dubai, Zayed Museum Abu Dhabi, City of Cultures Milan etc.


3. Ar. Fahed Abdul Majeed, Principal Architect, Fahed+Architects

Fahed, an alumnus of Bangalore Institute of Technology, has extensive professional and academic experience having taught in architecture schools in Bangalore. Helmed by Fahed, the practice has received numerous design awards since its inception. He is one of the few charter members of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) from Kerala.


4. Prof.  Ar. K.Jaisim, Founder,  Jaisim-Fountainhead

Prof. Ar. Krishna Rao Jaisim, FIIA FUWA, formed his firm Jaisim-Fountainhead in 1970. The firm kaleidoscope of award-winning work includes stadia, resorts, homes, educational institutions, commercial spaces and much more. He is associated with the Council of Architecture, n, IIID, HUDCO and TERI and sits on the boards of several architectural colleges.


5. Jaya Dhindaw , Director - Integrated Urban Planning -  WRI India

Jaya Dhindaw provides strategic leadership to all Urban Planning initiatives across WRI India, managing relationships with key partners, stakeholders and the global WRI network and advancing goals for sustainable development in Indian cities.  Jaya has over 16 years of global experience in a diverse set of roles within the domain of Sustainable Urban Planning.


6. Karan Shetty ,  CEO,  R J Builders

An Architect by profession, Karan’s architectural master plan for Bangalore International Airport was a winning entry at the design competition held by BIAL's Swiss partner Flughafen Zurich AG. Presently, he leads the RJ Group and 'Young in Design' is his mission at Third Eye Design Studio – a sister concern of RJ Group.


7. Rohit Suraj, Founder & CEO, Urban Zen

A passionate proponent of independent thinking and creative change, Rohit Suraj, is a TedX Speaker and has been awarded as one of the Top 50 Architects and Interior designers of 2019. Apart from several national and international awards, Rohit has, designed and executed a vast spectrum of projects of varying scales and profiles.
